Challenge #69: Beautiful Bokeh

Bokeh has been a trendy filter for digital photos for quite some time now. The term is a Japanese word that is used to describe the blur in the out-of-focus portions of photos. Bokeh has now jumped from our instagram shots to our patterned papers. Inspired by the bokeh patterned paper by October Afternoon and included in the February kit, our next challenge is to feature this technique in a layout. Use a bokeh patterned paper, photos treated with a bokeh filter, or devise your own bokeh-like technique. Creative team member Melissa has this inspiration for us today:

Captured Border

Melissa used the bokeh paper to create an oversized title on her layout and then stitched it down with floss. Isn’t it amazing?

Ready to play along? Here’s how:

1. Create a layout featuring bokeh. We would love to see a Scrapbook Circle kit in action, but any materials will do.

2. Post your project to your blog, a gallery, or ourĀ Facebook page. Come back to this post and leave a comment with the direct link to your posted project.

3. Enter by February 19th, 9:00 pm Pacific. A randomly selected winner will be drawn after the deadline and will win this beautiful assortment from Chickaniddy Crafts Date Night Collection.

Good luck and happy scrapping!
