One Item Wonder: Favorites from the All is Bright Kit

As we wrap up 2013, we are also wrapping up our special One Item Wonder feature for the month – creative team favorites from the All is Bright kit. Today, Audrey is sharing her favorite item – the Fancy Pants Designs Buttons pack.

Audrey used most of the package to create a beautiful garland on her page.

I love how the buttons are threaded, and the addition of Glitz rhinestones and other tags is perfect!

We would love to know what your favorite part of the All is Bright kit was! Be sure to share your layouts on our Facebook page. Happy New Year’s Eve!

Lifting You — Charity

Hello! Dropping by today to share with you Audrey’s lift of Charity’s layout. Charity is a kit subscriber and shared this page with us on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page.

I love how she journaled so much down the side of the page, and used the word stickers in her journaling. Pure genius! The layers and larger title at the bottom add to all of the fun going on with this page.

Below is the layout that Creative Team member, Audrey, made to lift Charity.

Audrey used Charity’s layout as a lift for the right side of this double-page spread.
On the right page, she kept a single larger photo like Charity did, but then added four smaller photos to the left side. She loved the journaling right down the edge of the page, so she lifted that idea too.  Audrey also layered a whole bunch of small papers behind the main patterned paper like in the original page, too.

Thanks, ladies, for the amazing inspiration to start off our week! I know we all have photos piling up from the past couple of weeks — time to be inspired and start documenting.

Stamps & Tickets & Banners…oh my!

Hello & happy almost 2014 everyone!   This is Jenni here to share my last and favorite layout using the December ‘All Is Bright’ kit and ‘Holly Jolly’ add-on.  I love scrapbooking, but I really love documenting the holidays and Christmas most of all.  One of my favorite ways to combine lots of bits and pieces is to cluster them all together and create a banner.  Lots of impact, lots of color and pattern and with a kit, everything already works together beautifully!

I used the Basic Grey Vintage Stamps and Fancy Pants Ticket Roll to create a couple banners for my layout.  I have been saving this photo of my husband’s family Christmas photo card from 1975 for the perfect retro holiday page.  These stamps and tickets were a perfect addition because of the muted colors, retro images and fonts.

I threw in some of the Elle’s Studio Bits & Pieces and several of the Glitz rhinestones too.  Punching shapes into a few of the tickets to layer some glitter paper behind them adds more interest.  Also, I embossed one of the Scrapbook Circle stamps in silver onto vellum for some extra bling.

I matted the photo on top of a several pieces of patterned paper and created a vertical element with it and a Scrapbook Circle printable.   All these little bits together give you lots of bang for your buck and make a big statement!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today and I wish you all a joyful end to 2013 and a Happy New Year!

Designer Choice | December 27

I hope you all had a fantastic holiday and a wonderful December!  This is Melissa here with you today showing one last layout I made with the December “All is Bright” kit and the “Holly Jolly” add-on kit.

Christmas Day - Border

I layered three different pattern papers on the background of this layout and then layered my photos on top. All of these photos were taken in December of 2012 on Christmas Day. I wanted to include a bunch of them, so I sized them down in Photoshop before printing and then printed them all out and left a thin white border. I was able to fit 5 total pictures on the layout by shrinking the photos down.

On one of the other layouts I made, I created a circle cut file and used my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out. Because I loved that gold glitter paper and didn’t want to waste any part of it, I used the negative circle pieces from the cut I created and layered them around this layout and then placed a smaller embellishment on top. Lastly, I layered the small Studio Calico stickers underneath the gold glitter circles. I also used one of the cut files from the December kits on one of the gold circles.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I hope you have a wonderful end of December and a very merry New Year’s!

Designer Take: Tessa’s Gift Wrap

Our Gift Wrap challenge is in full swing for one more week! To wrap a few gift cards that we gifted yesterday, I pulled out my All is Bright kit and a few other simple materials:

gift wrap 1

First, I used white lunch sacks folded in half to enclose the gift cards. Next, I used red, minty green and gold eyelash yarn to wrap the package and tie a bow. Then, I embellished mini clothespins with the red glitter ribbon from the kit. I used extra strong glue to adhere the ribbon, then trimmed the excess with sharp scissors.

gift wrap 3

I cut rectangles from the gold glitter cardstock and layered cards cut from patterned paper in the kit as background pieces for my tags. I didn’t glue anything together in case my gift recipients wanted to re-use any of the items. A simple shipping tag is how I addressed the packages.

Lastly, I took a berry from a floral pick, curled the wire stem, and tucked it in the clothespin, too.

If you’d like a chance to win the Printshop by Studio Calico prize, join in on the challenge! You can find all of the details here. Have a wonderful day!

One Item Wonder: Favorites from the All is Bright Kit

The creative team just couldn’t get enough of the All is Bright kit this month! For our One Item Wonder feature today, Adrienne and Jenni are sharing their favorite items from the kit. First, Adrienne loved the button set by Fancy Pants Designs:

She says, “I loved using the Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas Button Set on my page. Embellishments like the button set are one of my favorite things to use when I’m creating.  The mixture of chipboard and plastic buttons was perfect for giving my page lots of dimension and they were easy to cluster around my photo and at the top right of my layout.”

Jenni’s favorite item in the All is Bright cardstock add-on was the gold glitter cardstock by American Crafts:

Jenni says, “To me, Christmas and glitter just belong together.  I think it is even more powerful in little bursts of brightness.  I used it to back the negative triangles I cut out of this Elle’s Studio paper on my Silhouette.  It makes every project festive and happy!”

Now that you’ve had a chance to play with your kit, what is your favorite piece? We would love to know, and to see your layouts. Be sure to upload your projects to our Facebook page so that we can see what you are doing with All is Bright. Have a wonderful day!

Take 2

SC Take 2 Layout_edited-1

I am so excited to be posting today!  I was given the fun assignment of a Take 2, where we pick a previously made layout by another Scrapbook Circle Team member and make our own layout based on their layout!  I choose this layout from Diana Fisher that has photos of her and I!

I was drawn to Diana’s layout with all of its layers and patterns.

DT Choice | I wish I Could Put You In My Pocket

hi there fellow SBC fans! Leslie here today to share a layout I JUST adore
that I made using the December All is Bright kit plus a few elements from the add on:  Holly Jolly.

These are my babies (who are now 21 and almost 23.) and I call them my “Mini S&S’s.”
I really wish I could put them in my pocket and take them everywhere I go:
I can’t get ENOUGH of the Glitz Design Hello Bits and Pieces. How perfect is this large piece for my title (and journaling!)
It was my first thing to put on my page and I added my photo just beside it using a 3D glue dot as well as all the
LOVELY embellishments from the kit:

Topping my entire page off is the background paper. I just thought it was SO fun and festive and perfect for my little
black and white photo of my Mini’s…

thanks for stopping by today!
I hope you have a VERY Merry Christmas!

DT Choice | Santa’s Lap

Hello SBC fans!  I had these adorable photos of my daughter sitting on Santa’s lap last year (this year she’s not quite as brave for some reason) that I wanted to scrap and this month’s kit, All Is Bright, was perfect for this layout!

I was inspired to use that beautiful gold glitter paper as my background.  I placed the Basic Grey 25th & Pine Vintage Stamps individually in sort of a grid pattern around my photos and added a few punched circles from the Elle’s Studio patterned paper and my journaling card at the bottom to finish it off.

And here’s a close-up of my journaling…

Do you have all of your gifts bought and presents wrapped yet?  I’m hoping to finish up today…wish me luck!  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful holiday!
