An Autumn Stroll

I love the days in the early fall where it is still somewhat warm out, but the leaves are starting to turn, the sun is setting lower, and the smell of fall is in the air!  We love to go out for walks as a family at this time of year, so I snapped a few photos along the way and put them into the Autumn Stroll layout below!

The design is a simple grid design with an interesting border and lots of bits and pieces around the page.  I punched some clouds from the “cloud” paper from Studio Calico, some small journaling bits and tabs from the Crate Paper Close Knit die cut pack, leaves (feathers, maybe?) from Basic Grey, the exclusive SBC flair, and I even cut a geo ag from one of the new cutting files in the store!

Since it is the end of November, that means that it’s time to start moving on to another season of layouts, soon!! Winter is on it’s way!

Designer Choice | November 27

Good Wednesday morning!

This is Melissa here with you again to share another layout I made with the November “Home Sweet Home” kit and the add-on kit “My Happy Place”.

So-Thankful-Border

So-Thankful---Detail-1

I loved the stamp that was included in the main kit and really wanted to use it in an unique way on this layout. I used a gray ink and stamped this all over the gray card stock and created my own background paper for the layout. I filled in a few of the stamps with things that I am thankful for. You can still purchase this stamp HERE in the shop!

We would love to see how you have used your kit and how you have used your “Thankful for” stamp! Make sure to share with us on our Facebook page!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

One Item Wonder: Scrapbook Circle Printable

I love the variety of cards and journaling strips on this month’s printable! If you haven’t printed out yours yet, I hope you find a chance soon! Creative team member Jenni certainly has, and this unique page is the result:

#GamedaY_SBC_Nov 2013 title (1)

Almost the entire right side of her page is composed of bits and pieces from the printable. I absolutely love the blue and aqua striped card at the top, the one with the triangle and “so thankful for this” statement. What a great way to draw attention to that cute photo!

And I love how Jenni lined up the journaling strips for her notes. These little prompts make getting all the important details in a breeze.

Have you played with the printable yet? We would love to see! Be sure to upload your layouts to our Facebook page so that we can come take a peek. Have a great day!

Going Girly!

Hi everyone!  Jenni here today to share a page I created with the November ‘Home Sweet Home’ kit and ‘My Happy Place’ Add-On.  This layout is a complete contrast to my last Designer’s Choice page.  My last post was called “Making It Manly.”  I had written that a sign of a well put together kit is in the diversity of products, allowing you to create masculine, feminine and neutral pages.  So, this is my opposite side of the manly spectrum…super girly!

YOU & ME together_SBC_Nov 2013 title

I was inspired mostly because of these photos I took of my daughter and her best friend being silly.  I thought the colors in the photo looked great with some of the softer colors and patterns of paper in the kit.  I decided to keep the main layout a simple block of 4.  One for the title, on for journaling, one for photos and the last for embellishments.    The aqua sweatshirt my daughter is wearing made me pull in these floral die cuts from Crate Paper’s Close Knit Ephemera pack, part of the add-on kit.

ME & YOU together_SBC_Nov 2013 (3)

I cut out some leaves on the Silhouette and watercolored them to matching some of the colors in the other stickers and ephemera.  I used lots of the Allison Kreft and Fancy Pants embellishments and used the Scrapbook Circle exclusive flair and tags for my title and journaling.

I hope this inspires you to look at your kits or a collection of products in lots different ways, gender themed or not!  Check out the Scrapbook Circle Idea Gallery for lots of inspiration from all the Design Team!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Thankful For You

Hello everyone!  With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I was really inspired by the exclusive stamp in this month’s kit, “Home Sweet Home”, to make a special holiday card for someone I am very thankful for.

thankfulcard1
I was also really inspired by the Basic Grey printed feathers and beautiful colors of the patterned papers in the kit, so I layered several of each on my card.  I also stamped the “Thankful For” image onto some card stock and used a circle punch to punch it out.  I stitched the “You” letter stickers on top using my sewing machine.

thankful2

I’m thankful for so many things this holiday season including being a part of the wonderful team here at Scrapbook Circle.  What are some things you are thankful for this year?  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Challenge #65: Thankful for…

The November kit includes an exclusive stamp that reads “Thankful for….” Inspired by this stamp, our next challenge is to complete that phrase on a layout. We’d love to see you use the stamp, but it isn’t necessary. I asked Audrey to start us off with inspiration, and this is her beautiful page:

close together SBC

You can see the exclusive stamp peeking out from the top left of Audrey’s photo. Love all those layers!

Ready to play along? Here’s how:

1. Create a project that finishes the prompt “Thankful for….” We would love to see a Scrapbook Circle kit in action, but any materials will do.

2. Post your project to your blog, a gallery, or our Facebook page. Come back to this post and leave a comment with the direct link to your posted project.

3. Enter by December 4th, 9:00 pm Pacific. A randomly selected winner will be drawn after the deadline.

Just by entering, you could win a $15.00 credit to the Scrapbook Circle store! With all the new cut files, extras, and fabulous kits coming up, who wouldn’t love a little spending cash? Good luck and happy scrapping!

Winner: Sticker Savvy

Wow! We had a great response to our Sticker Savvy challenge. If I had to choose the winner, I’d be stuck! Luckily, random.org has chosen our winner:

PHILLIS

Phillis created her layout with the November kit, and had fun lining up stickers on the right side:
