Mixing Up the Medias!

Hi everyone!  Jenni here to share my love for all the artistically inspiring products in this months kit – So Happy Together!  Speaking of happy, I LOVE the trending style scrapbooking seems to be embracing with mixed media.  The October kit is full of so many patterned papers and embellishments that are just begging to be used for this type of background.   The main kit and add-ons also include great tools to use for any projects, mixed media, scrapbooking or other papercrafting.  I was so inspired by this paper from Glitz and used it to make this page about a recent birthday!

GOODBYE forty_SBC_Oct 2013 Title

I used the exclusive Scrapbook Circle stencil and one of the new stamps from Dear Lizzy (both in theYou and Me Add-On) to create a loose background on cardstock.

I tied that cardstock and this gorgeous piece of Glitz paper with a border strip of paper from Maggie Holmes.   I used my watercolors to paint over all three pieces taking cues from the paint patterns in the Glitz paper.

I clustered one photo on each side and split up the title too.  GOODBYE forty with some champagne and then a latte the following morning is the HELLO forty-one.

I think one of the things I like most about adding mixed media to a scrapbook layout is that imperfection is okay, welcome even!  So, get out your kit, get loose and share it with us on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page. Check out all the DT projects in the Scrapbook Circle Idea Gallery!

Your description of yourself is so me too. The craft room is a disaster. I’m always hunting for something that I just had in my hand a few minutes ago. the rest of the house is always neat and tidy – I hate clutter. I love to read – do that a lot. Love dogs – have a yappy yorkie. Love Italian
    I’m also a Virgo.
We differ on peanut butter – don’t like it. Only do Pinterest if I see something I want to save for the future. My kids are in their 50’s so they don’t laugh much anymore.
    Love your layout.
I’m getting into using the wood pieces. they are a lot of fun.
I’m a card maker, not a scrapbooker, so I have to be careful using them so they don’t get broke in the mail. thanks for hanging in to the end of this.
