Challenge #57 – Gray with a Pop of Color

The Let’s Chat kit is filled with lovely patterns in shades of gray (my favorite neutral at the moment!). The kit also includes some great, colorful patterned papers that deserve some special attention on our layouts. So, our next challenge is to create a layout that is dominantly gray with a pop of bright color. I asked Ursula to provide us with some inspiration, and this is her fabulous take:

Ursula pulled all the gray patterns from the kit and arranged them in a grid design. She used dimensional adhesive to lift some of the layers, giving her page interest. I love the little peek-a-boos of aqua and yellow.

UrsulaSchneider-Help-Detail-1Ursula suggests working with black and white photos when working with a mostly gray color palette – they blend easily and don’t compete with whatever color you choose to make pop.

Ready to play along? Here’s how:

1. Create a layout that is gray with a pop of color. We would love to see a Scrapbook Circle kit in action, but any materials will do.

2. Post your project to your blog, a gallery, or our Facebook page. Come back to this post and leave a comment with the direct link to your posted project.

3. Enter by July 31st, 9:00 pm Pacific.

One randomly selected player will receive a free kit add-on from Scrapbook Circle! Good luck and happy scrapping!
