Meet December’s Guest Designer – Jenni Calma

Hi there!  My name is Jenni Calma and I live in Alabama with my husband of 11 years and our two children, Sofia (8) & Samuel (soon to be 6).  We also have a sweet rescue dog, Lola, that Santa brought two years ago.  My husband and I are both architects, meeting in school, but I am on “sabbatical” to stay at home with the kids. I do some residential work on the side, but prefer to scrapbook or paint! I started keeping sketchbooks during school as a requirement, but they quickly became a fixture and more like mini-albums for me.

I am been fortunate to be on a Design Team and have done a couple other guest spots. I also have a a few pages being published in the future and am thrilled to add this experience too, thanks Lisa!

I love Scrapbook Circle, their DT is such a great variation of styles and they are always so enthusiastic and inspiring.  Christmas is one of my favorite times of year, so I am ecstatic and excited share my style, especially this month!  You check out more at my blog at

We asked Jenni a few questions. Below are her answers as well as some of her work using the December kit.

1) What did you like best about the December kit? There is so much to like it is hard to pick! I do love all the tags…they are great for journaling, title blocks or making a big collage!  However, patterned paper is my first love, so all the wonderful snowflakes and graphics that go so well together are a close second.

2) Where do you do your crafting? I have a craft room that I recently took over from our office/music room…I “suggested” that a good 40th b’day present would be for my husband to move his drums and take me to Ikea! I am super lucky to have such an easy going man…Before that, I was basically in our storm shelter, where my husband joked that if we were taking cover from a tornado, I could scrap about it at the same time!

3) Who/What is your favorite person/thing to document in your layouts? My children are definitely my favorite topic to document. I started scrapbooking after my wedding, but really got into it around my daughter’s “terrible twos…and terrible threes”! I decided as well as a creative outlet, it helped me concentrate on all the wonderful, sweet things about our children that sometimes get forgotten during a day of tantrums!

4) What do you like to do best when you aren’t scrapbooking? I love to paint and read, a luxury I don’t get to indulge in much lately!  I also love to cook and read about cooking. I also am trying to learn to play golf, emphasis on the TRY!

Thank you, Jenni, for answering our Qs! So nice to get to know you a little bit better.

I just love her work, don’t you?! To see more of Jenni’s work with the kit, make sure to stop by her blog.
