Challenge #33: Travel Mini Album

My plans for this summer include a road trip with my sisters. We are so excited about this vacation that we are literally counting down the days, and I am collecting scrapbooking supplies to document our adventures. When I saw the “Field Notes” kit, I knew it would be the perfect batch of papers and embellishments to create a mini travel album with:

I gathered together scraps of paper from the kit and the add-on and folded them into a book. I found homes for the tags, tickets, and alpha stickers, all while keeping in mind that I wanted to add lots of journaling and photos later.

I bound the book by hand-sewing through the spine. This way, I can snip away my thread and add pages later if I need to. Speaking of added pages, I also included lined notebook paper for extra journaling and photo space.

If you are interested in seeing the rest of the pages, I have the whole album up on my blog today, here.

Does your summer include any travel plans? Opting for a staycation this year? Or is there a vacation or trip you have yet to scrap? Whichever it is, I hope you’ll join me in making a travel mini album for our challenge this month. Yes, I said month. We decided that the challenge was a bit bigger than a layout, so we would give you extra time to play. And not only is the challenge bigger, but also the prize!

A randomly selected player will receive the “Let Freedom Ring” kit! Ready to play? Here’s how:

1. Create a travel-themed mini album. The album can be any kind, any shape, any size. We would love to see a Scrapbook Circle kit in action, but any materials will do. The album should be newly made, specifically for this challenge.

2. Post your album to your blog, a gallery, or our Facebook page. Come back to this post and leave a comment with the direct link to your posted project.

3. Deadline to enter is Wednesday, June 27th, 9:00 pm Pacific.

I’ll be sharing mini albums from three other design team members this month, so stay tuned for more inspiration. Happy scrapping!

Make-ahead mini albums are hard for me. But here’s my take on the challenge; it’s tiny:

I think it will be perfect for the index prints I get when I order photos.
