Rebecca’s Take Two

I am completely enjoying the new Scrapbook Circle blog feature Take Two where the design team re-does or lifts one of their own layouts and today it is my turn to take part! I am a complete believer in not reinventing the wheel. If you like the design or elements in one of your layouts, then by all means, why NOT use it again. And the reality is that you could probably make 100 layouts based on one that all look totally different. I started with this layout from the Remember This kit:

My favorite elements of this layout are the central collage-like design, the mist,  and the black and white photos. I didn’t use a lot of product on this one though and I thought by using a bit more it would look very different. So here is my re-take using April’s Daydreamer kit and Hello There Add on:

Similarly to the first design, I cut out frames from patternd paper to house everything on my layout. But I love how using the brighter colors on the neutral background and black and white photos in this version really makes those colors pop! I made that pink heart using the Heidi Swapp photo corners:

And the Heidi Swapp banner and alphas have resist on them that shows up when you mist them and wipe them off with a tissue. I really wanted the title to stand out so I outlined the resist alphas with black:

Finally, I also cut out a few tile letters from the Jillibean Soup paper Straw Mushroom to write the word LOVE.

Even though the design and concepts are very similar, I think using a bit more product adds a totally different look, don’t you?!

🙂 Rebecca
