Meet Feb. GDT member – Ursula Schneider

Let’s get to know Scrapbook Circle’s February GDT member, Ursula Schneider!

I’m Ursula Schneider, a happily married woman for the last 20 years to my very own ‘movie star handsome’ fella, Jeremy!  I’ve been blessed with 4 children ages 19, 17 and 16.  My oldest daugther is married and living across the country but the rest of my brood still hangs around, even if one of them lives on her own.  I’m 39 years young and one of the best things I’ve learned along the way is that you can reinvent yourself as often as you like. In the last 10 years I’ve done just that a few times over.  I began scrapping about 10 years ago and started photography at the same time.  A few years later I took up graphic design and designed digital scrapbooking products for 4 years for an online company.  Then I went back to paper scrapping and lately I’ve been working on designing and producing my own paper products.  My motto, if you want to do it, give it a try and see how it goes.  Can’t never can, can’t never will, must try!

What did you like best about the February kit?  This kit is full of fabulous but I think my very favorite thing about it is the color palette.  I’ve been in love with Turquoise and yellow lately so this kit really grabbed me with that luscious combo.  And I may have gasped out loud when I so those adorable chevron bags!

Where do you do your crafting? I am so very blessed to have my own scrap studio space combined with the family office.  It’s kind of an odd shaped room, long and narrow, but it works well. My hubby built me some great tables including a standing height cutting table and a long lower table that was originally for sewing back when I was quilting all the time. Shelves and lots rolling cart storage make everything easy to find.

Who/What is your favorite person/thing to document in your layouts? I don’t think I can pick just one, but lately I have really been enjoying documenting the little things.  I’ve been doing a Photo-A-Day project and I am just amazed at how many of those photos I end up wanting to create a layout for.  Those little moments are the things that will be easy to forget but when I create a layout, they are immortalized and I love that.

What do you like to do best when you aren’t scrapbooking?  I have two.  They are equal in terms of how much I like them.  I sing on the Worship team on my church (I fancy myself the next Celine Dion, LOL)  The other thing is taking photos, whether for me or on a professional portrait job.  I love making images that will speak to someone.  I think that’s why I love singing too, people really enjoy listening and are often moved to tears, that makes what I’m doing meaningful and I crave meaning in my life.

Here is some of what Ursula has been doing with the Remember This kit.

Thanks to Ursula for joining us this month at Scrapbook Circle! Her work is just lovely, isn’t it?!
