Purple People Eater?

I’ll admit it – purple is NOT my colour. I have the hardest time with it in all areas of my life – in fashion, in my home and even in scrapping.

This month – I think I may have turned another cheek .. I have embraced the colour I was afraid of – yes, a colour can do that to a scrapper right! 😉

In the Amy Tangerine line, there are lots of hits of colour – some of my faves in fact – yellow, green, teal, green – and yes, even purple.

You see – it is the right shade of purple! There are a couple different patterns in the kit with this shade of purple, one with circles and a grid pattern too like this one:

I think of it as a cross between magenta and purple… check out the page I created with this bold colour!

I hope you will embrace a colour that you may be afraid of too the next time you start a page!

We would love to see your purple page creations using the September kit – please share them with us on our Facebook page!

One Item Wonder and a Winner

One of my favorite parts of the new Amy Tangerine line (and the September kit) is the Remarks book of stickers. Filled with fun icons, phrases, and journaling spots, these stickers are an easy way to add accents to your pages. Nicole used the Remarks on this fabulous layout:

Nicole added her own touch by stamping on the stickers, sewing through them and outlining them with a pen:

What a fun layout! You can just feel the energy of Vegas by looking at it :).

Before I go, you probably would like to know who won Challenge #16, Numbers, right? We had so many great entries that if we didn’t use to select a winner, I would still be sitting here trying to decide. Congratulations to…

BRENDA SMITH, with this layout:

Whoo hoo! , please email me at tessabuys (at) yahoo (dot) com with your information and we will get you set up with that Glitz Designs package of goodies :).

Our next challenge will go live a week from today and is inspired by the October kit. Thank you for stopping by today!

Primary isn’t just for school anymore!

Since its the start of fall and back to school today I ‘d like to talk to you about color.

I talk a lot about this because color is the staple for this hobby and for my life as well! I love color! I feel that color often speaks for itself standing and representing so many things in our lives!

Take for instance this really cute paper from Signify Pink Glimpses.

Darling isn’t it? The first thing we would normally think about is school right? Well I am here to tell you that although when I got it that’s what I thought of, I decided to get out of my box and realize that primary colors aren’t just for school anymore!

See what I created using this paper:

See! You don’t have to always use a paper that “looks” like its for school like I did here. This paper fit perfectly for the photo I scrapped here and the theme of what’s going on with my entire project!

Remember to think outside the box when you get papers that are normally for one theme and try to make it into another!!!

You can do it, it’s really okay!

Lifting You – Sara

Hello there! Today we are lifting Sara. She shared this layout on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page, and I am so glad she did! I love seeing boy pages. Probably because I scrap for a boy, but there is something about great boy colors.

Such fun, tilting pictures and love the papers that she put together. Great page, Sara!

Sara was lifted by Nicole from the Scrapbook Circle DT. She kept the same layout and the same fun picture titling. I love how she used a button where Sara had used a star. Such a great lift!

Fabulous pages, ladies—I love your work! Want to be our next Lifting You feature? Just share your work using the Scrapbook Circle kits on the Facebook page.

Scrapbook Your Things

I know we all have tons of pictures of our kids, lots of our families and friends and usually a few of ourselves. I totally agree that getting down those stories about the people in your life is so important. But just like I often forget how fun it is to scrapbook photos of myself, I forget how fun it is to scrapbook about the things around me too. The things that are a part of our lives. On this layout I chose to scrapbook a few of the things I have that bring me happiness. Immediately I started humming that song from the Sound of Music and hence the title “These are a few of my favorite things.”

The American Crafts Amy Tangerine line included in the September The Good Life kit was just perfect for this layout since the graphics include sewing machines, typewriters and cameras–a few of MY favorite things! I made mini Polaroid photos by cropping my photos into squares and printing them on photo paper with enough room around to let me cut them into the Polaroid shape.

The little typewriter flag sticker from Jillibean Soup was a perfect fit here too. I tried to make the whole layout look like a giant Polaroid by mounting white cardstock on Kraft and then cutting another piece of Kraft cardstock to go over the white in the same Polaroid shape. Maybe next I need to do a THINGS layout for the other members of my family? Try scrapping your things with the September Scrapbook Circle kit because I bet it has lots of images of YOUR favorite things too! You can pick up an Add On of the Amy Tangerine Bits for that die cut camera, doily and Sew Fun label too!

🙂 Rebecca

Don’t forget the edge of the paper!

I LOVE the fact that American Crafts have gotten smart about adding a tear away edge that has it’s own pattern on it.  Crate also has that edge to tell you what is on the other side of the main pattern paper.  Out of the layouts that I made I included them on 4!  Here are 3 (I already shared the 4th layout at the beginning of the month):

We would love to see your creations using The Good life kit, please feel free to share on our facebook page!

Numbers Inspiration

Are you playing along with Challenge #16, numbers? I love all the entries so far and can’t wait to see more. I kept the challenge in mind when creating this layout of my youngest, showing off his “game face”:

I trimmed a strip of numbers from the “Playbook” paper in the September kit and placed it horizontally on my page, then layered stickers to create the foundation for my journaling.

Would you like to see what you are playing for?

A fabulous Glitz package! You can find all the details for playing along here. Happy scrapping!

It’s in the bag!

Did you see the cute mini bag included in the September kit, The Good Life? When I first saw it I thought it was the perfect size to hold a gift card, so I decided to make a Birthday card using the bag as the focal point.

I embellished the bag with a cut out image of the typewriter from the Amy Tangerine, “The Good Life” paper. Next, I added the sentiment, “Happy Birthday” to the open space on the page in the typewriter image and layered it on top of the bag. For the finishing touch I tied twine around the bag and inserted the gift card.

This was quick and easy card to make and definitely a fun way to present a gift card. What have you done with the mini bag? Share your creations with us on our Facebook page. We can’t wait to see what you do!

One Item Wonder: September Printable

The September Printable is a fantastic one, filled with great journaling blocks, oodles of tabs and a back to school flair. Let’s take a look at how Diana and Elizabeth used the printable on layouts this month.

Diana used elements from the printable for both her journaling and title.

Elizabeth used pieces as accents in her background, and for journaling.

I love how the printable works so well with all the different papers from The Good Life kit. We would love to see what you are doing with the printable! Please share with us on the Facebook page. Have a great day!
