Weekend Warm-up: Red, White and Blue

Hello! Have you entered your layout for the latest challenge yet? Inspired by the July kit, Blast Off, the challenge is to use the color palette of red, white and blue. I pulled out a few of my favorite sheets of paper from the kit, as well as the buttons and cork stars to create this page:

To create my pennant border, I cut a 2″ strip from three different patterned papers, then snipped them at random widths.  I cut a triangle from the end of each piece and layered them onto my page with slight tilts for a festive feel.

I used the tiny alphas for my date and subtitle, and anchored my embellishment clusters with the Bazzill decorative strips.

I’d love to see your red, white and blue pages, so get all the challenge details here and join us! You’ve got this weekend plus a few more days, so what are you waiting for?! I’ll be back next Thursday with our winner.  Happy scrapping!

  • Love your pendant border, so cute and creative! I created a layout but I’m not 100% happy w/ it yet! Trying to figure out how to fix it. Even if I don’t I will try to get it in in time for the deadline!
