Weekend Warm-up 3.10

It’s going to take some planning ahead, but gosh darn it I will scrapbook this weekend!  I have so many projects on my creative to-do list that I just need to make the time soon.  How about you?  Will you be getting scrappy this weekend?  In case you are, I have a little technique you might want to try.

I LOVE patterned paper.  The first thing that drew me to Scrapbook Circle kits was the amount of patterned paper you receive.  Vintage Market includes oodles of gorgeous patterns, and I wanted to use four different papers on this layout.  I was afraid that the page would seem too busy, so I contained my patterns by matting each piece on white cardstock:

Because I was matting the background piece, I took the opportunity to do a couple of cut-outs with my circle punch to highlight my butterfly embellishments.

If you’re trying to achieve a cleaner look without limiting your patterns, try this matting technique.  And if you’re scrapping this weekend, enjoy!

P.S. – You still have a week to get your entry in for challenge #3!
