December Project

Do the goodies at Christmas bring fond memories? They sure do for me! I was excited to work on this Christmas recipe book. This little book also contains traditions and memories from my family that are associated with the goodie recipes.

The 8 x 8 7 qypsies album is the perfect size for your recipe cards. Also in the kit are letter stickers & fibers from Basic Grey (figgy pudding line), paper from Love Elsie, and embellishments from My minds Eye.

(P.S. This makes a great Christmas gifts for loved ones!)

You can check out the full kit picture and list of contents HERE.

Christmas Countdown

I just put this Christmas countdown project together with several of the items in the upcoming December kit and thought I’d share it with you.

Here are a few tips that will help you put together your own Christms countdown board.

1. The wood came from Home Depot. It comes in 48 X 12 inch boards and Home Depot will cut it for you (for free!) into 12 X 12 squares.

2. Use Mod Podge to attach the paper.

3. The numbers are from Junkitz. Here’s a link to the Numberz.
The package comes with 3 sheets of numbers, so you will have leftovers.

4. You can use craft paint around the edges of the board and paper if you like that look.

5. You could print your words on the computer (like my project) or just use stamps or letter stickers.

6. Drill holes in the top 2 corners and attach wire if you want to hang the project. It would also be fun sitting on a shelf, mantle or on an easel.

Peeks for December and beyond!

So many fun things have been arriving for our next few kits, so I thought I’d give you a little peek at what you have to look forward to over the next few months.

December Kit…

Beautiful paper designs from Basic Grey Figgy Pudding, Daisy D’s, Imaginisce and My Mind’s Eye. Emellishments are from Jenni Bowlin, Heidi Swapp, Making Memories, Die Cuts with a View, Daisy D’s and Bazzill. This is a perfect mix of paper and embellishments that can work perfectly form Christmas or a variety of other events.

Here are a couple of layouts Emelyn created with this kit.

November Sketch

Here is the sketch challenge for November. Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!!

Here is the sketch:

Here is the layout:

Quick and Easy Canvas

Looking for something fun to do with your canvas in this month’s kit? I decided to create a simple wall hanging for my bedroom…something to remind me how lucky I feel on a daily basis. All it takes are three easy steps:

1. Choose a color and paint your canvas…for my project, I chose a soft green.

2. Using one (or more) of the Scenic Route labels, choose an “expression” from the October Afternoon rub-ons and apply to your label(s). I cut my expression into pieces to “fit” my label.

3. Embellish simple. I chose to cut one of the branches from the Scenic Route kraft paper (omitting the flower). You could also use your flowers or ghost butterflies for little touches. I also added a few buttons from my stash.

I hope this helps to inspire you to play with your canvas soon!!!

Re-using the Packaging!!

As a scrapper I’m always trying to find ways to use every little bit of scrap. I’ve even resorted to using packaging that goodies come in. The Nov. kit contained a set of Making Memories alphabet stickers. I LOVED the bracket design that was used as the label. I simply cut it out and inked the edges of the blank side. I used it here on this card.

For this layout, I used the same packaging, but this time I cut a small piece to serve as a tag for hidden journaling.

I challenge you this month to re-use the packaging on a card/layout/anything!
Can’t wait to see what you create 🙂

Meet Our November Guest Designer – Tracy!

I know that you are going to love the work that Tracy Buzzell shares with us this month. She is so talented and I’m so happy that she was willing to share her talent with us.

Head on over to the Idea Gallery when you get a chance and check out her work!

Here’s a little info about Tracy shared with us…

“My name is Tracy Buzzell and I am so excited to be the November guest designer for Scrapbook Circle! I am a high-tech marketing professional turned SAHM to two wonderful children, Ethan (3 1/2) and Eliza (18 months) and wife to Brian for 8 years. I live in a suburb of Orlando, FL where it is too hot, but we get to go to Disney World and the beach quite often so it makes up for the lack of seasons!

I have been a scrapbooker in some form or another since high school, but I really started scrapping heavily in 2000 when I started my honeymoon album and haven’t stopped since! I would considerer my style to be graphic but eclectic, with a mixture of sizes and experimentation of styles, and my favorite subjects are my two beloved children! My love for scrapbook kits began last year when I discovered that kits like Scrapbook Circle were a fantastic way to get a mixture of papers, coordinating cardstock and some great embellishments delivered straight to your door!”

Thanks Tracy!
