Our Fun Finds at CHA

Jennie, Diana and I returned late last night from two full days at CHA in Anaheim. Wow, we had so much fun finding product for our upcoming kits. It's a hard job, but somebody had to do it!

Here's a look at what we found and what we were up to while we were away.

We loved all of the new Jenni Bowlin goodies. The butterflies and banner alphas were definite favorites. The new Dear, Lizzy line by Elizabeth Kartchner & American Crafts was really playful and fun. We met Liz and talked to her for quite a while. She was very sweet. We're excited to be bringing you a bunch of her product in an upcoming kit! (Hopefully the April kit.)The two new lines from October Afternoon very fabulous (as usual.) We ordered pieces from both the Fly a Kite line and the Vintage line. Here's a look at some of the Fly a Kite paper and some sample projects they had up in the booth. We branched out a bit an ordered some really fun fiber products with both burlap and canvas. We can't wait to play with them and see what you do with them too.The Prima booth was full of yummy goodness.
The Brrok Collection from Crate Paper was antoher one of our favorites. Here's a layout created with this line. While we were walking around (most likely near the American Crafts booth because they has the best chocolate!) we ran into Stacy Julian, Rhonna Farrer and Janet Hopkins. We talked to them for a while. They were all very nice and full and energy.Another great kit find was the two new lines by Margie Romney-Aslett. We loved both of her lines and you will be seeing some of each of them in our upcoming kits. Thickers? Need I say more? Racks of thickers. Ahhhh.
We put our Cosmo Cricket order in before the show so that we could be sure to bring you the newest product right away. Out Cosmo Cricket goodies have already shipped and they are on their way to us!We are so excited about what we found and put together into kits for you! Can't wait to share more peeks with you.

If you want to see even more of what we were up to at CHA, you can check out Diana's blog and my blog.

Variety of Looks for the November Kit

Our November kit, Radiant Harvest, is now up and ready. We are having a wonderful time designing with this kit.

Although the kit has "Harvest" as part of the title, don't think that this kit will only work for fall themed layouts. The Seasons line from Crate paper that we include in this kit really gives so many different creative options, especially when mix with the Comso Cricket and Lily Bee paper.

I've fit in some creative time this week and have created a few layouts with the November kit. Here's a look at what I've been up to.I must say that one of my favorite products in the kit is the corrugated alphabet from Jillibean Soup. I love the size, the font and how well it coordinates with the kit.
I alsolutely loved creating with this rich, navy blue paper from Lily Bee. The cream colored paper from Crate was a perfect contrasting color. Everything on this layout (the label note, adhesive pearls, heart sticker, alpha, brown border sticker and paper) is in the kit!
Kits are shipping the beginning on this week! Hope you are looking forward to receiving yours. If you haven't ordered one yet, we still have a few left.

July Layout Peek

Just wanted to share a layout I did yesterday using the upcoming July Kit. It features some paper from Sassafras Vintage Yummy and lots of paper from Cosmo Cricket Early Bird.

We are sponsoring the sketch at Inspired Blueprints this month and thought I'd use the sketch (#24) to create a layout. You can play along with them and enter for a chance to win our June Kit.Here's my take on the sketch. I don't usually start with sketches, but I really loved how quickly this sketch helped the layout come together. I'm also loving the beautiful colors of the Early Bird paper.
We only have 2 spots left for our July kit. Send me an email if you want to be on the list for this one. You won't want to miss out on it!

The full kit will be revealed on the 25th.

Quick Party Invite Idea

Having a pool/swimming party this summer? Here's a quick (and fun!) invite idea.
These are invites to my daughter's birthday party. She helped by tracing and cutting the paper to fit onto the flip flops. The paper was attached to the flip flops with glue dots. We printed the info onto yellow cardstock and added some Bazzill edge cardstock and it was finished.

I was going to pop the straps out of the flip flop and then punch holes in the paper and fit the straps back through the paper, but that was going to take too much time. So I decided to just cut a straight line in the paper from the tip of the toe down a couple of inches so that the paper could wrap around the toe strap.

We picked the flip flops up at the dollar store, so it was an inexpensive way to make a themed invitation.

All of her friends love their invites.

Thanks to the upcoming June Kit for everything we added to the flip flops.

Loving the "On a Whimsy" Paper

When I first saw this Fancy Pants paper at CHA I knew it had to be in a kit.I loved the bright colors and whimsical patterns. Honestly though, I really had no idea how I would use it on a layout since it was so busy.

This afternoon, I finally had time to play with this paper and this is what I came up with.
After using this paper, I have a few tips for making this busy pattern work for you.

1. Use a black and white photo. The B&W photo doesn't add any more color to the page, so it's less distracting.
2.Create layers with "calmer" papers. Here I used the green grid and blue grid B-sides of the paper.
3. Trims the swirls. I really loved the swirl design in the paper, but since they took up pretty much the entire center of the paper, they had to be covered. I decided to trim the swirls with my craft knife so that I could still see them and use a larger photo in the center of the page.

Everything on this page is from our April kit.

One last note, I ran out of the "s" on on my puffy alpha sheet, so I just trimmed it from this fun paper.
I like how the combined fonts turned out. Glad I was out of the puffy blue S!

Loving Our APRIL Monthly Scrapbooking Kit!

Can you believe that April is almost here? We are so excited to share our April kit with you.
We are including paper from Fancy Pants on a Whimsy and Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday. We absolutely LOVE the paper from both of these lines. You get 10 sheets of patterned paper! All of the paper is double-sided.
The reverse sides of the paper are just as wonderful as the front sides. Don't forget to pick up you April paper add-on so that you won't have to decided which side of the paper to use.
Here are a couple of layouts I've done so far with the kit. I LOVE the versatility of the kit. It's perfect for both pretty girl pages AND boy style pages too. Lots of options with the double-sided paper. Can't get enough of the puffy American Crafts Alphabet. So fun!

We have just a few April kits that have not yet been reserved by subscribers. If you want to be sure to have one of these lovely kits, you can reserve one now by signing up for a subscription HERE. Single kit purchases will be available on April 1st for any of the remaining kits.

March Kit Ideas >>>Are you Ready to Get Your Kit?

I finally had some time to play with our upcoming March kit today.

Here's a look at the layout ideas I came up with.

Here I filled in a few of the circles on the tree sticker with the Bazzill jewels. One can never have enough sparkle.

This layout used 2 of the Pebbles papers, 1 of the Jillibean papers, a Jillibean journaling sprout, Pebbles sticker, Bazzill jewels, tulle and the Pink Paislee alpha. Everything is included in the kit.

One this layout I used the 3 Pink Paislee Fascinating papers, 2 of the Jillibean papers, Pebbles stickers, Kaiser rub-on and brad and a Pink Paislee sticker. Everything on this layout is also from the March kit!

The kits will be shipping next week, so reserve one while you can!

Monthly Scrapbooking Kits X 2

One of the things I love about our monthly scrapbooking kits is the varied combination of products you get in each kit. Something that can be even more fun than creating with one kit is combining two of your kits to create one layout.

Here I combined the U Rock (January Kit) with the Will U Be Mine? (February Kit) to create this layout. I was surprised at how well the two different kits coordinated.

Here's the list of goodies used from each kit:

January Kit
2 of the Collage Press papers
Tim Holtz "Play" ticket
Prima Epoxy Sitckers: the star and awesome stickers

February Kit
Fancy Pants blue paper for background
Making Memories XOXOXO sticker
Doodlebug Black/White Polka Dot paper
Fancy Pants Transparency Frame

Since we really work hard to pack as much as possible into each kit, it is our hope that it is easy for you to combine embellishments and paper with other kits and things in your stash.

We would love to see how you combine two (or more!) of your kits. Post your photos in our community. We love seeing how you use your scrapbook kits.

Playtime with the March Kit

I had a couple of hours to myself this afternoon, so I decided to play with the March kit. Here's what I came up with...

Guess I was in the mood for brown cardstock. LOL! Maybe it has something to do with craving all of the yummy chocolate Girl Scout cookies we have in our kitchen.

Everything you see in both layouts is included in the kit.
