Stamping on Layouts
I know a lot of people avoid it like the plague, but stamping on layouts can be a lot of fun and give a layout a completely unique look. I had to have the Scrapbook Circle add on this month (Bulletin) mainly because of the super cool Pink Paislee stamp set included. All you Project Life people should definitely check it out. I think it is one I will be reaching for again and again. I used a number of the stamps on this layout:
I think the thing about stamping on layouts is to totally go with the flow. If you dont require perfection from yourself it is way less stressful There are a couple of things to notice that were sort of happy accidents. First of all, I chose a color of ink that is gray thinking it would go along perfectly with the gray in the Pink Paislee “Playful” die cut. But on the dark green cardstock (which so perfectly matched my son’s hair lol) it doesnt really show up as gray.
But that is OK! Once it dried I really liked the sort of tone on tone look the light gray ink gave on the cardstock. Next, please notice my less than stellar (ha!) stamping of the “remember” flag.
I should’ve used and cleaned the stamp before trying it out on a tag for my layout, but I didnt So the ink sort of beaded up and the flag part of the image is a little imperfect. That is OK too! I had already spritzed my cardstock for a grungy “Punk Rock” look so a distressed stamp image fit right in.
Again none of these were planned but going with the flow really helped me have fun with stamping right on a layout. If you want that stamp set, run and check out Bulletin today before it is sold out!
