Monochromatic

I decided to make a new layout for today’s blog post. As I was looking through what was left of my August kit (and there wasn’t much) I noticed a large amount of yellow/orange still left. I thought it would be fun to do a monochromatic layout.

I used a this sweet photo of my niece I took on a family visit a few weeks ago. My sister doesn’t scrapbook, so I often make pages of her kiddos for her.

I used Photoshop Elements to crop the photo in a circle, using the cookie cutter tool. To add a little more color to the background, I used Studio Calico’s Mister Huey’s in Sunshine and Buttercup. After that, I added my cardstock strips and embellishments.

The August kit has plenty of variety to do several different monochromatic layouts. I think I might have enough pieces left to do a blue page too! Have you ever done a monochromatic layout? I would love to see them, link them up in the comments if you have one to share.
