One Item Wonder: Neptune Patterned Paper

One of my favorite papers in the True Stories kit is the sheet called Neptune by American Crafts. One side is bright and sunny, and the other side is wavy and cool. I challenged three designers to incorporate it into a layout in a creative way and they did not disappoint! First, let’s take a look at Ursula’s layout:

Ursula created a spinner using the sunburst side of the paper, adding triangles of other patterned papers and  photos.

The paper’s design gives you easy guidelines to follow. Ursula’s stitching is a great detail, too.

Jennifer Chapin was also inspired by the sun rays. She removed the center of the paper and backed it with another patterned paper. She also incorporated stitching to bring out the design.

Penny decided to use the flip side of the paper for her layout. As a tone-on-tone design, Penny put it to work as a fabulous background:

What a great example of using white space, but instead of white – a great pattern! Thanks to Ursula, Jennifer and Penny for the great inspiration! Did you use this piece of paper yet? We would love to see! Post your layouts to the Facebook page and we will come take a look! Have a great day!

  • The Neptune paper is one of my all time fave AC patterns- the color is so incredibly bright! LOVE Ursula’s spinner page- what a dynamic design! And Penny’s page is wonderful with the photo and the focus on blue. I also really love the details in Jennifer’s page- the twined star and cut out central circle are great details!
