Challenge #36: Anything But The Beach
One of my favorite things about Scrapbook Circle kits is that even though Lisa does a fabulous job providing us with designs and themes that are timely for the seasons, the papers and embellishments she chooses easily lend themselves to non-seasonal pages. I can scrap my “everyday” or something that happened months ago with the current kit. Don’t just take my word for it – let’s put this idea to practice. Inspired by the August kit, True Stories, use beach-themed papers (like American Crafts Shoreline) to create a non-beach layout. Here’s my take:
I pulled my favorite Shoreline papers from the kit and went to work. I fussy-cut the sand dollar-esque blue paper to create flowers with brad centers and pink leaves.
Having just come back from a vacation on the beach in San Diego, I could have used dozens of different pictures with these papers, but these iPhone self-portraits that I took in my livingroom recently told a story I wanted to tell now – and matched the navy blue paper perfectly!
Ready to play along? Here’s how:
1. Create a layout with beach-themed papers/embellishments that is not about the beach. We would love to see a Scrapbook Circle kit in action, but any materials will do.
2. Post your album to your blog, a gallery, or our Facebook page. Come back to this post and leave a comment with the direct link to your posted project.
3. Deadline to enter is Wednesday, August 22nd , 9:00 pm Pacific.
A randomly chosen entry will win a $10.00 credit to the shop. Have fun creating!

Love, loved the “True Stories” kit this month, so I had to use it for my layout. I posted my layout in this post on my blog.
