Oh, Hexagons, How I Love Thee!

Hexagons and hexagonal lattices (also known as honeycombs) are a huge trend in the scrapbooking industry right now. This month’s kit, You + Me, features hexagons on both the My Mind’s Eye embellishment sheet and paper from the Love Me line.

I love the look of hexagons chained together to make a border. They’re so orderly and organized, but the outline isn’t totally straight and adds a bit of interest. In my Love Is Pink & Fluffy layout I used bits of the hexagon border from the embellishment sheet to offset both the lacy outline of the doily border and the straight lines of my photo mats.

In my The Couch at Anthro layout, I used the larger pattern of the hexagon paper, cutting out chunks of the pattern along its outlines to bring a splash of color to the kraft chevron background.
