Challenge #21: Year in Review
Can you believe that 2011 is coming to a close? The year seems to have flown by. That’s what I love about scrapbooking – no matter how quickly the years go by, our layouts preserve our memories like moments frozen in time. Challenge #21 is all about capturing memories from the past year. Your challenge is to create a “Year in Review” type layout.
Using the December kit, Note to Self, I created this “2011 in Review” page:
The index cards inspired me to make a sort of rolodex for my layout. Using washi and fabric tapes (not in the kit) I secured several of the index cards and more cards made from patterned papers in the kit across my layout, overlapping each one.
The cards flip and turn over to reveal journaling from each month of the year. I used a few of the journaling spots from October’s kit, too. I didn’t add photos, but that would be a great touch.
You could highlight your favorite memory from the year or do a month-by-month recap like I did. So long as you are creating a layout that looks back over 2011, you’re satisfying the challenge. Ready to play? Here’s how:
1. Create a layout that satisfies the challenge. We would love to see a Scrapbook Circle kit in action, but any materials will do.
2. Post your layout to your blog, a gallery, or our Facebook page. Come back to this post and leave a comment with the direct link to your posted page.
3. Updated: Deadline to enter is now Wednesday, December 29th, 9:00 pm Pacific.
You could win the Jingle All the Way kit! So what are you waiting for? Good luck and happy scrapping!
