Challenge #18 – In Stitches
Have you seen this photo on Pinterest? source
Gorgeous, right? I had just pinned it before my October kit arrived. Imagine my delight when I opened the kit to find this patterned paper:
And then this sampler-inspired one by Crate Paper:
Love! These two sewing-themed papers have inspired our next challenge, In Stitches. All you have to do is add stitching or sewing to your layout. Whether you use a machine or a needle and thread, incorporate some kind of stitching on your page. Here’s my take:
I fussy cut the spools as accents and used the sampler paper as my background.
I stitched my title by hand, and although it took a little while, it was fairly simple. First, I drew my title in pencil. Second, I poked holes about 1/8th to 1/5th of an inch apart along my pencil lines. Last, I stitched my way back and forth across the title with embroidery floss.
The banner rub-ons and alpha stickers are from previous Scrapbook Circle kits, but everything else is from Fresh Picked. Ready to play? Here’s how:
1. Create a layout satisfying the challenge. We would love to see a Scrapbook Circle kit in action, but any materials will do.
2. Post your layout to your blog, a gallery, or our Facebook page. Come back to this post and leave a comment with the direct link to your posted page.
3. Deadline to enter is Wednesday, November 2nd, 9:00 pm Pacific.
One randomly selected participant will win…
Hallow’s Eve – the Halloween Kit! Good luck and happy scrapping!

adorable LO and great challenge! I love how you used those banners from the older SC kit!
This was my first attempt to hand-stitch on a layout. It’s not quite straight but hopefully that lends to the charm! Thanks for another great challenge!

I used a machine to stitch around the photos/pattern papers. I’m not usually a person that sews anything (because I can’t), but I recently purchased a machine JUST for scrapping! This is only the second time I’ve used it!
hi! though i don’t have the kit to do this, i love stitching so much and here’s my take : http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/gallery/member/459686-genevive/1771013-i-do-believe-in-fairies/?c=t more power Scrapbook Circle!
