2 Pieces Make 1 Nice Background

Do you like to make the most of the patterned paper that comes in the Scrapbook Circle kits? Do you cut little bits for each layout or do you fall in love with one side and use it whole without cutting it? I do both really. Sometimes one side of a patterned paper just “speaks” to me and I want to use it in its entirety as the background for my layout. Other times I like to piece together different patterns to create my own background. That is exactly what I did here:

*OUT FOR PUBLICATION*

The gold color in both patterns coordinates so well that  thought together they would make a great backdrop. I cut the golden pattern paper into 6.5×11.25. The second paper I cut into 5.25×11.25 and then stitched all around the border. The grey paper with red polka dots in a scallop strip was actually one of those manufacturer strips that I fussy cut and then stitched to accent the title.

Have you made your own background with 2 or more pieces of patterned paper? I’d love to see!

:) Rebecca
