I just wanted to share a fun, quick project that I did using the July kit – Blast Off!.

I had some leftovers in my kit to use, so I thought it would be fun to make a quick door hanger for my son’s room.

I used a lot of the little goodies in the kit – some of the October Afternoon buttons, the chipboard star, and even some of the mini alphas from Simple Stories!

All I added was some cork from my stash and some sparkly glitter paper and thickers! I used the zipper from the kit to add to the center of the whole to make it a little less open:

I sewed it all onto some thinner chipboard.. and voila! I think this is a great, eaxy and fun weekend project! It takes no time at all!

Here’s my take:

For a fireworks-type effect, I misted over star masks (punched cardstock) in three different colors: first blue, then red, then white.  I love how using the white mist last gave it a bit of a white-washed look.  For my journaling, I used several lines from the Studio Calico rub-ons in the kit.  I just rubbed on what I needed and journaled away.

I layered the zipper trim and the seam binding to anchor my photos.  I love the star stick pins! Because they are clear, they don’t cover up my photos and instead bring attention to them.

I love the cork stars that were included in the Blast Off kit. For my “Shoot for the Moon” layout I decided I wanted some stars with a little sparkle. It was so easy to do, I simply peeled the backing off the adhesive and dumped the glitter on. No messy glue involved.

When is the last time you used glitter? I bet if you look real hard you can find some in your craft room somewhere. Pull it on out and give this a try, it is so easy to do. I love that a summery kit like Blast Off is so perfect for these winter photos! A few snowflake punches among the stars from the printable take the layout from July to chillier days.

From a jar full of fireflies to big, colorful journaling blocks, this printable is a really fun one! Happy printing, cutting, and gluing!

Hello! Today we are lifting this fabulous page from Wendy. She shared it on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page.

There is so much that I love about this page. I love the title—it is perfect tucked up there in the corner. And the clusters of embellishments are the best. Such a wonderfully designed page.

Wendy was lifted by Heather. I love how she kept the photo in the same place, but then rather than putting the fussy-cut paper that Wendy had behind the photo, Heather put it to the far left side. Swapping the title to the bottom, too, fit this page design so well. Great job Heather, as always!!

Don’t you love the October Afternoon Miscellany that came in the July Blast Off!  Kit? So many different coordinating goodies are included. And the chipboard shapes are so fun! Sometimes it is nice to use the chipboard bare because it easily matches with any photos, but for this layout I wanted the chipboard planet to pop off the page and add a pop of color to my layout. So, I misted the chipboard with some Maya mist and once it was dry I used a red chalk ink to ink the edge.

I love the planetary look the combination of mist and ink gave it and the yellow and red really pop off the blue background. Have you been altering the October Afternoon chipboard? I’d love to hear how!

When I first opened my Scrapbook Circle Blast Off! kit, I was drawn to the fun yellow paper from the Crate Paper Toy Box collection.

I thought of a few different occasions that this paper would be perfect for!

For this card, I used the paper (of course), nd lots of bits and pieces from the Blast Off! kit:
I used the Bazzill edges, the Simple Stories alphabet, and added some twine from the Scrapbook Circle store:

On this card, I used the same paper with a different sentiment I printed off my computer. I added more bits from the Blast Off! kit – this time it was a leftover Ephemra card, ribbon and a button from October Afternoon.

and I just love how simple it is to make a card with this paper mixed with the rich navy Pink Paislee paper from the Scrapbook Circle June kit! I love the October Afternoon playing cards and how easy it was to use it on this baby card, with more of the Simple Stories mini alphas, twine from the store, more October Afternoon buttons and the Maya Road star pin from the store!

I still have a good chunk of this paper left…and have other plans for it too! Put your kit to the test and make a few cards with it!
