Maya Road has done it again with a fabulous product perfect for altering.  The vintage lace flowers included in the June kit, Garden Party, are easily transformed into just the touch you need for your next page. Let’s take a look at how Nicole altered the flowers for her layout:

Nicole removed the pearl center from the flowers to flatten them a bit, making them larger on her page.  She colored one flower red with mist, then added button centers.  The little cluster of blooms is the perfect addition to her fabulous layout.

Hello to another week! Today we are lifting Chas Zurek-Simmons! And here is the page that she shared on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page.

I really liked her layout and the way the two pics were nestled in a file folder and tilted. Great way to use the chipboard banner, too.

I am loving the background paper Jennie used, as well as the way she used the cut doilie to mimic the banner used on Chas’s page. Fabulous idea!

I love it when you get a product in my Scrapbook Circle kit that has an alternate ego..

In the Garden Party kit this month, there is such a product  – the Maya Road Kraft Die Cut Doilies!

Not only are the doilies a perfect embellishment for your page – but they are also a cool tool to use on your page!

For this page, I used the doilies as a mask instead of an embellishment!

Now, I have a beautiful teal doily all ready to go!

Hello! Are you working on your entry for Challenge #10, Set the Scene? I thought I would stop by today with a couple tips for creating simple scenery elements using the June kit, Garden Party.

First, a flower with a stem. Garden Party includes a sheet of Woolies by Basic Grey.  I chose to work with one of the largest flowers and the leaves.  To create a stem, I cut out a piece of patterned paper (also in the kit) about 2.5″ x 3″.  I added a strip of adhesive down one edge on the wrong side, then began rolling as tightly as I could.  I finished the stem with another strip of adhesive. I like the dimension the rolled paper gives the final piece, but you could always trim a flat piece of paper to size.

Next, a tree.  I used the same rolling paper technique for the tree’s trunk.  To create the foilage, I used three small circles and three larger circles punched from patterned paper in the kit. I arranged them in a way I liked and added the last center piece with dimensional adhesive.  Lastly, I accented the treetop with a butterfly and flower charm from the kit.

I love the printables each month.  They provide unique touches to my layouts and cards that you just can’t find anywhere else.  Let’s take a look at how Diana W used the June Printable.

Hello, and happy Monday! Today we are sharing lifts with you. We are lifting Fay this week!

When I saw Fay’s page on Facebook, I loved her use of white space and how the image was centered as the main focus of the page. I also love how the embellishments seem to float along the corners.

Fay is being lifted by Diana W. and Elizabeth. This first one is from Diana W. She kept pretty true to the lift, including the lacey border punch. I just love this page—gorgeous!

And here is Elizabeth’s page. She also stayed true to the initial elements of the lift, including the journaling to the side of the photo. And I love the colors she used. Another fabulous page!

The patterned papers included in Scrapbook Circle’s June kit (Garden Party) are gorgeous, of course, but the embellishments are such an amazing assortment of color, texture and type. From lightweight, gauzy filter flowers, to wood veneer butterflies and flag stick pins to Kraft doilies and felt flowers.

When I want to use a smattering of fun goodies I try and place them in 3 corners to create a visual triangle around my photos to draw the eye around the page and keep the focus where we all want it–on our memories

When I first opened my Garden Party kit I was SO excited!!  These little woolies are a quick easy–CUTE embellishment you can add to a card or layout.  There are SEVERAL great ideas in our Idea Gallery–the girls did a FABULOUS job!  Here is how I used the woolies:

love that some of the flowers have buttons on them and that the leaves have layers–just so fun!
