Here’s a few sneaks to get you in the holiday spirit!

(Can you tell I gravitated to the reds in this month’s kit?)

tip of the day November 29, 2010

My tip of the day today is about picture placement.  On this layout I wanted to do something unique that caught the viewers eye.  I was inspired by a layout I had seen and had quickly sketched.  I really liked that the focus was on a larger picture with detail in the smaller ones.  I like to take quite a few pictures of an event and try to include as many as I can on my layouts.  By printing smaller pictures you can!  I would love to see your ideas regarding picture placement on our Facebook page!

Custom Titling

Hi everyone! How is your Thankgiving weekend going? Mine has been wonderful so far!!

First I wanted to share with you what I made for my family get together. You have probably tried these before and if you haven’t…..woah…you need to!

Oreo Truffles are seriously delicious! Here is the recipe!

I also wanted to show you a little trick I did creating this “somewhat” long title. lol

I knew that I wanted the whole saying ‘who says I can’t have my cake and eat it, too?’ to be my title and for it to wrap around my photos. But, I needed CAKE to stand out and be larger than the rest.

So, I stamped out the letters on a patterned paper from the kit and voila! My own custom-made title!

Next Sunday is going to be my first official December Daily post!

I will be showing you how I TOTALLY MESSED UP and ACCIDENTLY created this texture for my DD cover!

Hope you guys will join me!

Happy Creating!

Making your own twine

Good Saturday to you! How was your Thanksgiving?

Well, if you aren’t too busy decorating your house for the holidays, or aren’t too tired from all your black friday shopping, here is a quick tip on using the November kit.

We all got a strip or two of that dark brown burlap. On this layout, I needed some dark brown accents. So, I just peeled off a few strips of the burlap and made it into my own twine. Used a few glue dots, and it was done! This was when my husband turned 34, so I wrote 34 things I love about him.

Happy Holidays!

Weekend Warm-up 11.26

Happy Black Friday!  Hopefully you will get some down time (read: scrapping time) after all the shopping you may be doing.  Today I have a couple of fun ideas to share.

First, a wavy title treatment:  I free handed a waved line in pencil on my layout.  Next, I added the banner stickers from the November Kit to the line.  I hand stitched my line with embroidery floss.  Lastly, I added the Sassafras alphas from the kit and a few from my stash to create a fun title with movement and added interest.

One of my favorite ways to spice up patterned paper these days is with my punches.  I punch shapes (in this case hearts) from patterned paper and adhere them with dimensional adhesive over the same patterned paper.  You may not notice it at first glance, but the extra dimension and bit of a shadow makes it a treat for the eyes when you do discover it.

Enjoy your weekend!

*Happy Thanksgiving!* :):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Hi all….

Before sharing my two lo’s, I wanted to wish all those in the USA a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Today, I have two lo’s to share with the ever YUMMY November kit! I just loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the colors in this kit! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

The first one is called “Birthday Buds”…and its a lo about my daughter and Mother-in-law, who happen to have BIRTHDAYS one day apart! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

One the below image, the chipboard ticket actually said, “Admit One”…and since my photo has TWO people in it, I cut out the “TWO” out of another piece of chipboard and placed it on top, so now it reads, “Admit Two!” :):):):):):):):):):):):):)

And my second lo is titled, “Artist”... and this is my daughter at the local Children’s Museum! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Did some paint splattering on this lo… just like my daughter was doing at the museum! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope everyone has a FABULOUS Thanksgiving! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Hay!!

This month’s kit comes with a piece of dark burlap.  As I was using it on one of my pages, I frayed it and had a pile of little strands all over my table.  I then realized how cute this would be as hay with a light color burlap!!!  So I took some burlap from my stash and cut out a rectangle of it and glued it on a piece of kraft cardstock.  This was my hay bale base.  Then I frayed a whole bunch of tiny strands and glued them on top to create the look of a pile of hay.  Also, I glued my scarecrow to a popsicle stick to make him stand a bit more sturdy off the page.

All the elements on this page came from the Bella Blvd. sheet.

I also wanted to say that I am VERY excited about the December kit!  I did something very special that I can’t wait to share!  Next Wednesday is Dec. 1!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just a quick post to say Happy Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for these three and that I get the lucky job of being their mommy. :) Hope you enjoy the holiday with your loved ones.

It’s a Winter Wonderland: December Kit Peeks

We are so excited to share our December Kit peeks with you today! We filled this kit with many beautiful items that remind us of a Winter Wonderland.

We’ve mixed products from many of our favorite companies: Crate, Girls’ Paperie, Lily Bee, My Mind’s Eye and Elle’s Studio. Plus the kit comes with a custom Scrapbook Circle download that coordinate with the kit.

We’ve combined beautiful, bright colors with subtle blues so that you can have a great variety in your creations.

One of my favorite items in the kit is the Girls’ Paperie Sticker Market Sitcker Book that is filled with 6 sheets of stickers. Three of the sheets are alphabets, 1 sheet of calendar stickers, 1 sheet of border stickers and a tag and frame sticker sheet. Wow!

With ten (yes, 10!) double-sided paper options, you will be able to create many memorable layouts and projects.

We hope you are looking forward to this collection of wintertime goodness!

Kits will go on sale on November 25.
