My tip today isn’t anything new or original. I wanted to talk about stamping on pattern paper.  I don’t do it very often but I ALWAYS love the way it looks-it gives your paper a new dimension.  For this layout EVERY element is stamped on a pattern paper that is included in the August kit, then I added a little bling with jewels and stickles.  Yep!  It’s a boy layout–but hey this present was pretty AWESOME!  So the next time you want to add some fun but don’t know what to do.  Try stamping on your scraps of pattern paper!

Happy Friday! I’ve got another weekend warm-up for you to enjoy this afternoon, and one you will hopefully have a chance to play with this weekend sometime.

I love paint.  When I need just a splash of color or just a little artsy flair on my layout, I go with paint, which is just what I did when I sat down with August’s kit.  In this layout, I used paint to frame my photo, and to highlight the color of my little guy’s onesie.

In this layout, I used paint to create a background for my title.

Oh, and if you’re messy like I am, I suggest wearing an apron or old clothes .  Have fun creating!

The photo of her adorable dog hanging out with the stuffed dog caught my attention right away.  How adorable is this photo??  Doreen enhanced her bright, happy and cute photo with the vibrant papers and embellishments from the August kit.  I love it!

Can you guys believe the amazing September kit peeks?  Stop it!  I’ve been drooling over them for the past few days, I cannot WAIT to get my hands on the new kit!

But today… I wanted to share three more lo’s I made with the WOWWWWWWWWWW August kit from Scrapbook Circle! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):) This kit has just been PACKED full of SUMMER colors!!!! :):):):):):):):):):):):)

This first one I titled…”This is….the look” :):):):):):):):):) My DD is quite the ham… and this is how she poses for me when I get the camera out! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

I had sooooooooooo much fun making these pinwheels that I learned to make from my friend Deana! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

And the second lo I made for today is titled, “A monthly tradition”….and this is me and my babies…that I make sure every month I take a photo with them…and my journaling tells why! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Did a lot of cutting for this lo and added some misting! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

And the last lo I wanted to share with you today is one that I made for the latest Sketchy Thursdays Sketch!! Such a fun sketch this time and my title for this is…”You make Happiness Happen!”  :):):):):):):):):):):):):) I added some white paint splatters to my background paper! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

 Today I wanted to share with you a little mini album that I did using some of the cards from the Fancy Pants Rusted Sun papers.

Here are some some simple instructions for this album:

1. Begin by cutting 11 4” x 3” cards from double sided patterned paper.  NOTE: I chose to do a separate cover card with no “number” on the back.  You may want to do only 10 cards.
2. Cut white or cream cardstock into eleven, 3.5”x 2.5” pieces.  Ink the edges or outline with colored markers if desired.  Glue each piece of cardstock to the back of each patterned paper card.
3. Using the Jillibean Soup “Spring Onions” paper with the numbers, cut out the numbers 1-10.  Trim one edge of each number to make it flush with the edge of the card.  Attach the numbers to the cardstock side of the cards on random edges of the card.
4. Do your journaling!  I decided to write down my ten favorite things about summer.  I chose not to include any photos because of the size of the cards and I didn’t have a photo for every item.  If you want to include photos, you could add extra cards or add photos to the front of each card.
5. Lastly, deocrate the front of each card with bits and pieces from the August Kit!  On the cover, I even used the two crocheted flowers and attached them right on the album ring and then tied a few lengths of baker’s twine on.

What I love about this project was that I didn’t have any photos.  I just wanted it to be a little reminder of the things I love most about summer, so that when I am cooped up in the house in January and February, I can open up the album and dream of summer!

Sometimes I find it fun to alter my photos so that the subject matter is more prominent…case in point…
here was the original photo. I found the green shirt of one of my daughter’s friends to be a little distracting.

So I changed it up a bit…And here is the layout..

I used an app on my iPhone called Camera Bag to give the photo a funky filter that took some of the distracting background colors out and popped the colors in the foreground so you really could see the red and blue tongues on my girls and their friends…
You can see that playing with it a little gave it a cool, edgy look that I think made it more scrappable…so next time you have a chance..play with your photo a bit and see if you can give it a different vibe by altering the color a bit…it’s FUN!

I must say that I am over the top excited about this kit. Everything is a brand new CHA release item, so you will be one of the first to play with these amazing products.
