playing with the add on play time kit for the month of June has been fun!  Lisa featured the kit here on the blog a couple of days ago HERE isn’t it pretty?  I created this layout:One of the things I did on this page was to mist.  I cut out butterflies–using my cricut, and used them as masks.  I wanted to REALLY see them so I outlined them and then using the butterfly stickers in the kit I placed it in the middle and embellished with jewels from my stash. Another fun tip for the title I used one of the journaling card.  I cut out the sun covering the number on the front with the letter G in glasses. Lastly, for the title is that I added glossy accents so that the sun would shine.If you are looking for a FUN mini kit with colors that can be used on both boys and girls layouts, this kit is it!

October Afternoon, Girls Paperie, Basic Grey! One of my favorite things was the huge packet of sticker/alphas/words that comes with it from Girls Paperie. They have two sheets of all these GREAT words. Someone really had their thinking caps on when they created those words — they have all the ones you could want!

In this layout, I wanted to really focus on the feeling created by the photo, and not add a lot of embellishments (those this kit is PACKED with them). So, I just used a whole bunch of tiny word strips to accentuate the emotion of the picture — family, fall, fun, memories, etc. The fun story about this picture: Growing up, we would go to the local park every fall. We’d all rake leaves up into a HUGE pile — enormous. Then, my dad and older brother would take us each one at a time, by the arms and legs and swing us… 1, 2, 3! and fling us into the pile of leaves. We’d do this over and over and over. After we were done playing in the pile, we would just run through the leaves, playing with everyone else at the park and enjoying fall. We called it our annual “Falling Party”. This is most likely the first one I participated in. I’m 2 years old here. Anyway, enjoy this kit — there is plenty in it to dress it up, or just leave it simple.

One for a birthday…

Don’t you just love the banner sticker? I only used half of it, so I still have another half to use somewhere else. The alpha is so playful too.

And one card for a graduation…

The paper here came from the front cover on the collection pack, so I didn’t even have to use up any of the paper in the kit for the background.

Hey guys! Happy Thursday! Aymee, aka Southernbellescrapper, here to share a layout with you on this gorgeous afternoon. This layout features the totally awesome Echo Park ‘Sweet Summertime’ add-on for June. This arrived at my doorstep today with my monthly kit and I fell in love!!! I knew I had to rip into it and play right away! I highly recommend this one…it is gorgeous! The colors are so vibrant and the stickers that come with…ooh la la! Love it! AND if you order it with your kit…it ships for free! Can’t beat that!

Here is the layout that I created using this ‘sweet’ kit! I first pulled the pinwheel patterned paper. I love this whimsical pattern and made some pinwheels of my own to match. To secure the pinwheels, I pulled out my new toy…the Imaginisce I-Top Brad Maker. I picked this up this past weekend while helping teach a scrappy class in KY. It took me a few tries to get the hang of it, but once I did, this toy is a new favorite! I just love how you can make a brad to go along with any project you are working on.  Everything that you see with the exception of the Jenni Bowlin alphas, pearls, and thread are included with this add on.

‘Sweet Summertime’ (even the name of this  kit inspired me!)

today I wanted to talk about embellishing your embellishments.  Embellishments are great–I LOVE them–sometimes though I want them to be a little more unique than just straight out of the package, so I add a little “something”.  For example on my layout 37:

I not only embellished the numbers with stickles:

but I embellished the flower with pearls:

Real simple but it gives it that little “something” extra!  So next time you feel you want something extra add a little more to your embellishments!

I thought I’d spotlight this simple and very easy and quick layout I did with the May kit. I loved the whole packed of goodies from Crate Paper that came in the May kit. I have used the entire packet by now! I used a flower punch to get a few flowers from two different papers, and then just used various shapes and created a grouping of goodies next to my photo. I then took a pencil (always start with a pencil!) and doodled around my photo and some of the shapes. Then, when I was satisfied, I got out my pen and traced over the doodling. I think this layout took about 20 minutes! I love all the white space and the overall simpleness of this. So, not every layout has to take hours! Go for simple today!

Hey yall! Happy Thursday! I hope you all are enjoying a wonderful day so far! Today I wanted to do a little double duty with my blog posting. I wanted to work some more with that fabulous May Kit from Scrapbook Circle and I wanted to participate in the challenge that Fia is hosting for us. If you would like to play along with the challenge, go here.  The challenge is a color challenge. Normally, I try not to combine scrapbooking projects, but things have just been crazy hectic for me here lately. I spent all day yesterday packing up my bags and getting things ready because today I have a flight to Nashville. I am going to be helping teach a scrappy class with a close gf in Kentucky on Saturday. I so excited! I have never done anything like this before, so I hope I do ok.  But between all this chaos, I could not find as much time as I would of liked to sit at my scrappy desk and create. So I decided to do double duty. I knew when I saw the challenge, that I wanted to use the May kit. The colors found in the kit remind me of the colors required for the challenge. I decided to make a card because my card stash is running low. I need to build it back up. I was able to pull this card together in about an hour, which is good for me. I am a slow scrapper and can work for hours on one project. Everything that you see, with the exception of the brown cardstock, felt trim, and rhinestones, were all pulled from the kit.

I cut these butterflies out using my Cuttlebug die/embossing butterfly combo. After cutting them out, I used some ‘Coffee Shop’ Tattered Angels glimmer mist. I just love the shimmer this stuff gives. I adhered these with some pop dots to pop them up off the page.
