July Mini Album Idea

You & me, and me & you! This song by the Turtles became the theme for this fun little album. When I saw it I knew what I wanted to do with it and the fun papers from July’s kit! I recently completed Stacy Julian’s Library of Memories class at Big Picture Scrapbooking (LOVE IT!) so I had a file of great photos of Nathan, my husband and I. The lyrics from this song kept running through my mind and they said exactly what I wanted to convey to my husband – so happy together!

This album came together in about two to three hours. I cropped each picture and rounded the corners. I glued paper scraps to each page, punched the holes for the binding and inked the edges. With the lyrics in hand, I started playing with picture placement and journaling. The journaling wasn’t showing up as well as I wanted it to so Lisa suggested using paint splotches to highlight the song. It worked GREAT!

The cover came together really well, using the add-on kit alphabet
, the American Craft thickers from the kit and the Heidi Swapp Family Corner stamp. I used just the word “together” from the stamp and it worked wonderfully! Adding ribbon and a little more ink (I think I’m addicted) really finished it.

Make your own “You and Me” album and send us pictures! Here are lyrics and more pictures. You can click on the pictures to make them bigger.

“Imagine me and you, I do.
I think about you day and night
It’s only right to think about
the girl I love and hold her tight
so happy together!

If I should call you up, invest a dime
You say you belong to me and ease my mind
Imagine how the world could be so very fine
SO happy together!

I can see me lovin’ nobody but you
For all my life!
When you’re with me no matter
How they toss the dice
The only one for me is you and you for me.

Baby, the sky’s will be blue for all my life!
Me and you and you and me
So happy together”

July Project Kit

We are excited to share our July Project Kit with you. We have created a home decor project that will make a perfect patriotic decoration.

The Cosmo Cricket lacing cards are the perfect base for the project. We then added Cosmo Cricket paper, 6 yards of ribbon, tin stars and die cut and inked letters to create the project.

This also comes with an instruction sheet. All will just have to find a glue stick and hole punch and you will be ready to create.

Enjoy!

June alphabet

Hello fellow scrappers,
I just had to write about the wonderful alphabet in the June kit. This has got to be one of my favorite alphabets to work with — the letters stick, sparkle, and are varied.
One of my other favorite alphabets was the brown one in the Father’s day kit — for those lucky enough to get one of those! Let Crystal and Lisa know which are your favorite alphabets and which are not — it is almost time to order supplies for the next several months of kits and they would love your feedback.

Enjoy — and have fun scrapping!

Elsie Flower Album

These adorably cute flower albums were such a great find at CHA this winter! We are excited to share them with you for Scrapbook Circle’s June Project Kit. While Lisa, Jennie and I were up in a cabin for five days with our kids, we got to play each night with our upcoming scrapbook kits. I put together a great compilation of favorite pictures of my three daughters, using this kit’s stuff. Because I had A LOT of pictures I wanted to include (this kit has the ability to have up to forty pages), I decided to use several different sizes of circle punches – Fiskars new squeeze punches – on the patterned paper. I cut each of my photos to be 4″ square and rounded the corners. I had a huge pile of circles and my pictures were ready to glue and go. After putting the picture in the middle of each page, I glued three different sizes of circles on each page. It still needed something so I painted the edges with two different shades of pink.

For a final touch, I added two circle stamp images on most pages, some thoughts about and some ribbon on the binding ring. I plan on hanging “Flower Girls” in my kitchen and periodically flip pages so I enjoy my beautiful girls and smile.
